Silaup Putunga heads to #NIFF2018 Greenland
After screening for two months at the AGO (Art Gallery of Toronto), the Nuuk International Film Festival #NIFF2018 in Greenland will be screening our film (Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory) Silaup Putunga this September!
Thursday Sept. 20, 06.00 PM.

Jamie Griffiths, Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory and Igimaq Williamson Bathory, during filming of Silaup Putunga.
Silaup Putunga was originally created as an ever-changing video installation running from software. Visitors to the AGO Exhibit TUNNIRUSIANGIT; Kenojuak Ashevak and Tim Pitsiulak, were immersed in a 25 minute visual and shifting sonic experience of the North. The film festival version is currently being re-edited to a ‘locked’ film format and will also include some additional material.
Silaup Putunga is a collaboration film project by Laakkuluk Wiliamson Bathory and Jamie Griffiths, filmed at a remote location in Nunavut’s Frobisher Bay. Laakkuluk is the protagonist in the film, accompanied by her son, Igimaq. Music is by Celina Kalluk and Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory, with camera and editing by Jamie Griffiths.
